In regards to breed discrimination--we try to take it lightly. I say to those who seem threatening that Po is a chihuahua, and anyone who could mistake her for any other type of dog needs glasses. After all, she is sooo tiny!!

Hello. I am the besotted owner of my pitbull by strange circumstance stubbornness
,etc. Her name is "Repossed"--Repo for short. Her name is her history. She is the second absolute best dog I have had the pleasure of guarding in my life. I say gaurding because thats what ownership is--protecting a living trust.

Hi group. New to the website : ) I have a 2 year old pitbull name King and a Boston named Marley. They are super spoiled. It is good to find a group like this with fellow pit owners.

Two home cooked meals a day...I don't even get home cooked meals. Lucky dog. I have two female pitts I don't have any problem with but I did have to have my male put down last year for aggression problems. I think jealously played a big role in it and he wanted to be the domiant dog, also. Unfortuantey, while breaking up a fight between him and another dog, I got bit and because he was the most aggressive, we felt the need to have him put down. We found the other one a home. Me and my girls get along just fine, just 3 women hanging out together.

Yep...lol...me too! My dog IS spoiled and pampered, but he does get 2 home cooked meals a day. As far as spoiling, I dont see why that is a problem. Also i have known some dogs who live just fine eating out of a full bowl of food all day. Overall it is nice to see an article that has research to prove that aggression comes from how the dog is raised, not from the breed of the dog.

I think what they are trying to say is that using food as a reward after exercise and sitting and waiting patiently as part of training is beneficial for psychological reasons in preventing food aggression. However many dogs as far as I have known do just fine grazing on a full bowl of food all day. So people should just do what works for them : )

Interesting article. Guess I am one of those owners that spoils my pets and leaves them with plenty of food and water for whenever they want it. Who would think that was a bad thing.

Really great article: Scientific proof that breed is not to blame. Check it out.
