- Yeah, it is so true. They do not deserve their bad rep. I have often pointed people to the Wikipedia article on pit bulls which even though Wiki isnt always an accurate source for information, they do provide scientific records and governament records to back their information on their page. Wikipedia startes that Pit Bulls do not have a "locking jaw" anymore than any other dog and explains how the myth came about. It is really interesting if you have the time to check it out.
You are right, they really do just want to please their owners, and I beleive that is the trait they were selectively bred for. That is why they also make such great therapy dogs. It is funny that some of the most vicious breeds i have ever met were always the small dogs, chihuahuas. My dog has also never met a pit bull that he didnt get along with, they are usually so non-confrontational! I really think that its just the irresponsible owners who should be banned from having dogs of any breed. Anyway, I hope one of these days people will wake up..lol. Good to know there are good people out there (you). Take care.
