New Vets
Well tomorrow, Figaro and I will be going to visit a new vet. He was highly recommended by three friends of mine so we will see.
I'm thankful I have a job that I don't have to rush to in the morning. Figaro loves to watch things on my iPad so every morning, he snuggles up with me in bed and watches me answer my emails, check facebook, etc. I cherish these little moments with him because he is so special. When I leave for work in the afternoon, he's always at the door waiting for…

New Obstacles and Unknown Roads
It's hard for me to even think about the right words to right here. Yesterday, Figaro was diagnosed with Feline Leukemia. This is certainly not the road I wanted to be traveling on with my first "grown up" pet. I'm 27 years old, work mostly from home and was looking forward to being able to take care of my cat for many, many years to come. It's strange because I know so many people that are affected by cancer in their families and now to be dealing with it in Figgy...it's absolutely…

Shirley very gently picked my little guy up,put him in his bed.He lay there looking around like telling us "I'm fine",trying to assure us and ko-ko that it will pass like before. But when the morning came it was not what we exspected,he was in a really bad condition. He had lost bowel movement and urinated all over himself and still had no mobility, only to move his head.I reached dowm and cupped his little head in my hands and his blue watery eyes just fixed on mine and we just looked at one…

The reason I brought this to mind is that shirley and myself are two people who would spiritually be able to endure that which was to come.
It happen one evening while we were watching television, when all of a sudden baby katz let out a horrific out cry.We ran to him and found him lying on his belly looking up at me,I tryrd to pick him up,but he only hurt more.He could not move his rear legs to stand up. We very carefully picked him up and rushed him to the vet's office. They…

I awoke to shirleys wake up call.It was early friday morning, and as I set on the edge of my bed thinking about the trip ahead of us when shirley called out "the coffee is ready".Leaving the bathroom, still only half awake,I sat down on the bar stool and drank my first cup of coffee, which was the first of three before I was at that point, wide awake and ready to begin the first day of our vacation.
Shirley was busy packing for our trip from Fayetteville to lake Gaston…

Goldy
Hi!
Thank you for accepting me to your Blog. I was taking care of a feral colony consisting of 4 adults and 4 kittens. Seven of the eight are now gone, mostly due to FeLV. I have one little baby left, named Goldy, who is very anemic now. He is around three years old, and the sweetest little boy you'd ever want to meet. I have seen several vets, and they all say the same thing...euthanize, and now is the right time.
Several weeks ago, I found Goldy outside, very ill, but…

Please check out my new facility in Wade. Military wife owned and operated.
Small facility, and I mean small. Dogs get outside at least 5 times a day, for
a total of about 3 hours, sometimes more. I have 7 acres and trail walks
are given 3-4 times per day. Your dog will never want to leave. My kids
will also play with the dogs after they get home from school, so if your
dog loves kids, this is the place for you.

Today is Feb.3, 2011 and I was just paid a visit from Animal Control about the feral cats that my husband & I have been trying to give a better life. We have a colony in the woods behind our house that we have been trapping, having them spayed/ neutered, vaccinated for rabies and then releasing back into the woods. We do leave dry food and water out for them and have tried to help them stay warm during this unusually cold weather by putting hay in boxes for them to sleep in.
We…

This meetup is for those who would like to gather with other dog enthusiasts in the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg and surrounding areas. Our goal is to encourage socialization, exercise for dogs and owners alike, positive training, good dog behavior, and most of all have fun with our dogs. Most of the time we will meet up for "pack walks" in different areas around Ft. Bragg and Fayetteville. Some walks may require your dog be on leash and others not. We will also plan some group walks downtown,…
